Black Rabbit – Imperial Stout aged in Hazelnut Liquor Barrels – Collaboration with Frau Gruber
You’ll get a massive hit right from the first sip. This beer is massive. Massively chocolatey and nutty. Massively barrelled. Massively alcoholic. And still harmonic at all times. How is this possible? We didn’t cut any corners in the brewing. Neither when selecting the malts, nor when taking the time such a heavy beer requires. After maturation in the tank, we put it directly into top-quality oak barrels that had been filled with finest hazelnut liquor. Here, the Imperial stout remained for twelve months before we filled it in bottles. And as a little special, we sealed this special beer with wax – by hand, needless to say :-). Once you’ve overcome the obstacle of opening the bottle, you can already guess what awaits you from the deep brown colour: liquor-like aromas in the nose that with the first sip combine with a full taste of nut and chocolate. Creamy and velvety in the mouth, with a long-lasting impression and a warming effect, this beer is there for a long time. A very long time. A very, very long time…
