El Patron – Double India Pale Ale
Who the hell’s this El Patron? Well, obviously not the evil drug lord from Colombia, but the guy this beer has been named after. This will forever be our secret! But what is no secret is the similarity to the character of this double India pale ale. Because what you get in your nose, on your tongue and on your palate is mighty indeed. A strong and full-flavoured representative of this style. Incredibly creamy and silky, you might even say somehow gentle. Yet El Patron quickly reveals its potential. In the nose you find appealing touches of passion fruit, a little honey and vanilla, which on your tongue quickly transform into grassy hop aromas. A full body that towards the end combines with a strong bitterness. And then there’s the alcohol. Well, yes, you can feel it. This beer washes over you like a wave of impressions. At times it’s quiet, then it’s loud; at one point it’s soft, then it’s heavy. But always mighty. Just like El Patron, as we said.
